Widely considered one of the most important engineering treasures in the whole world, the Charles Bridge was built more than 600 years ago across the Vltava River, connecting not only two neighborhoods in Prague, but also Western and Eastern Europe. Thirty replicas of statues of saints are found along the sides of the bridge, to enhance the beauty of this gothic bridge.

This unique building, built in the mid-90s, has quickly become one of the most famous landmarks of modern Prague and it resembles a dancing couple: a man and a girl in a flutter skirt.

This square boosts an incredible wealth of historical sites, such as the world famous Astronomical Clock - the oldest one in the world still functioning – and two beautiful churches built in different styles (gothic and baroque). Several bars and restaurants are located in the area.

Climb up to Prague Castle, situated on a hill overlooking Prague and enjoy the beautiful scenery over the city. With a length exceeding 570 m, this castle is considered the largest one in the world; it, encompasses several buildings of different architectural style, with the most famous being the gothic St. Vitus Cathedral. Every hour the guard change is held, with a special ceremony at noon.

Opposed to the Old Town Square, Wenceslas Square represents the heart of the New Town, bustling with people every hour of the day, shops, hotels and kiosks. The characteristic National Museum, built in neoclassical style, dominates the area from uphill.

For a laid-back afternoon, consider heading to Petrin, a hill reachable on foot or via funicular. There is much to see in this green area: climb the 68 m high Lookout Tower for panoramic view of the city and then have a walk across the park until reaching the Hunger Wall, built in the 14th century to protect the castle. Eventually you can have a picnic in the area and visit Stefanik Observatory for an interesting scientific detour.

The beauty of Prague’s center is marked and emphasized by the Vltava River. Several cruises along it are available, scheduled to leave at different times in order to meet the needs of every customer.

Letna Park offers a green retreat from the city, although being close to the center. From there you can admire spectaculars views over the bridges spanning the Vltava River, take a picture of the gigantic metronome and watch young people skateboarding.

This is surely one of the best zoos in Europe, thanks to its enormous territory hosting a variety of animals – you will also be able to pet some of them. The zoo is reachable by bus, but for those who prefer a more exotic way, there is also the opportunity to get there via boat. To enjoy the zoo and to see everything that it offers, one should definitely spend there at least 4 or 5 hours.

Vysehrad was a fortress that nowadays encompasses a cemetery where famous people were buried, the beautiful neo gothic basilica of St. Peter and St. Paul and the oldest building in Prague, the Rotunda of Saint Martin.
